About Ananda Dhwani
The Ananda Dhwani Music Trust, Bangalore, a not-for-profit organization, is proud to present the 8th edition of the Whitefield Music Festival. Founded in 2011 and officially registered in 2017, the trust is dedicated to promoting and preserving Indian Classical Music and Dance through world-class performances and nurturing emerging talent.
Ananda Dhwani was inspired by the vision of Late Pandit Deepak Choudhury, a renowned sitarist of the Maihar Gharana and disciple of Bharat Ratna Pandit Ravi Shankar. Today, his disciple Pt. Prabir Bhattacharya, along with his students, carries forward this legacy as the trust’s founding president. The name “Ananda Dhwani” draws inspiration from the raga composed by Deepakji himself.
The Trust
The trust strives to foster a deeper connection with Indian classical art forms through:
– World-class concerts like the Whitefield Music Festival
– Talent hunts such as Sangeet Pratibha to discover new talent
– The Gurukul Music, Dance, and Art School to train and inspire young artists
– Annual training camps to encourage continuous learning.
In line with the objectives of the members and trustees feel- “The Indian Classical Music and art forms have been losing their essence and there is a drift away from our heritage and culture. Through these events, we try to focus on generating awareness about our classical art forms, and thereby make classical music and dance as much as a part of our lifestyle, as other genres. We are offering free entry, hoping to encourage larger audiences to come and enjoy the performances.”
