Ananda Dhwani literally means Happy Melody! Happiness and Peace through music is what Ananda Dhwani symbolizes. The Ananda Dhwani Music Trust focusses on the treasures of Indian Classical Music and Dance. It’s endeavour is to bring forth the joys of classical music and dance, through world class performances, talent searches and furthering education and training.
The seeds of ‘Ananda Dhwani’ were sown by the renowned Sitarist, Late Pandit Deepak Choudhury, one of the icons of the Maihar Gharana and a direct disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. The seeds sown by Deepakji is being nurtured by his student Sangeet Ratna Shree Prabir Bhattacharya, and his students. Prabirji the current President of the trust. The name ‘Ananda Dhwani’ originated from the Raga Anandhwani, a creation of Deepakji. The Raga is a blend of the Carnatic Raga Hamsadhwani and the Hindustani Raga Anandi Kalyan.
